All on 4 Dental Implants in Stone Mountain, GA

The Modern Solution for Tooth Replacement

At Smoke Rise Dental we know that missing teeth can have an effect on your self-confidence and your overall quality of life. If you are missing several teeth, you may want to consider All-on-4 dental implants. If you were to get a full set of dental implants, it would be excessively expensive- so you're probably going to look for ways you can save money.

Since they require fewer implants in the jaw, All-on-4 implants cost less than a full set of implants.

Why Choose Smoke Rise Dental for All on 4 Dental Implants?

Patient-Centered Dentists and Team Members
Implant Placement Provided In-House
Family Dental Office with Over 40 Years of Combined Experience

There are three traits with this technique:

  • As few as four implants per jaw
  • Angled rear implants for optimal strength
  • Can be implanted and fitted in one day

This system is for patients who want immediate full arch restoration.

Advantages of All-on-4 Implants

There are several advantages that All-on-4 Implants have over conventional implants and dentures:

  • Short treatment/recovery time
  • Extractions and implants done same day
  • Comfortable, stable structure to support crowns/bridges
  • Fixed in place, do not need to remove to clean
  • Will not slip or fall out
  • Ideal for patients with jawbone loss
  • Less expensive than procedures that use eight to ten implants

Disadvantages of All-on-4 Implants

Of course, we must also explain the disadvantages of the All-on-4 Implants as well:

  • Results not the same as traditional implants
  • Some patients have spitting/hissing while speaking
  • Not fully customized solution
  • Single implant failure can result in problems with the whole jaw
  • Implant gum bridge may feel bulky

Who Should Get All-on-4 Implants?

At Smoke Rise Dental, we understand that not every patient is a good candidate for every procedure. However, this tooth restoration option is ideal for patients who:

  • Have neglected their teeth
  • Have teeth that cannot be restored

This also may be a good treatment for patients who are self-conscious about their appearance and want a different alternative than dentures.

You will enter our Stone Mountain, Georgia office with your natural, unrestorable teeth and walk out with brand new teeth and a radiant smile in about an hour or so. The drawback is that you are only getting four to six implants with a fixed prosthesis, so oral hygiene isn't as good as it would be if you had a single implant and crown for each missing tooth.

The Fitting Process

The process of getting fitted for All-on-4 Implants is pretty simple. Here's how it will go:

Initial Consultation

The very first thing you will do is schedule your consultation with Dr. Moeti and the team at Smoke Rise Dental. During the consultation, we will examine your mouth and also do a CT scan. This scan will determine if you are a good candidate for the implants. We will check your jawbone density to determine the best place for the implants.

If you have low jawbone density, we will explain some alternative options, such as mini implants before you make your decision. Feel free to ask any questions or bring up any concerns you have at this time. We want you to feel confident in your decision.

If you are a suitable candidate and you decide to move forward, the next step will be to make dental impressions. These will be sent to a lab where your dental bridge will be designed to fit and look like natural teeth.

We may also do some panoramic x-rays to facilitate the planning of your treatment.

Surgery

If you require tooth extractions prior to the implants being inserted, we can typically do this on the same day. We will offer you a sedative to help you relax and will also provide you with anesthesia so that you don't feel pain. If you would prefer a general anesthesia, please let us know during your consultation.

After your extractions, we will thoroughly clean your mouth to remove any bacteria and damaged tissue. We will then drill two or more holes at the front of your jaw to hold the front of the bridge and then two in the back, angled to provide stronger support for the rear of your bridge.

Once we insert the implants, we will clean your mouth again and stitch up the incisions with dissolvable stitches that will disappear after about a week. Typically, on the same day, we will fit you with your new teeth- but in some cases, it may be the following day.

This will be a temporary bridge that is made of resin, which is lighter, so it puts less pressure on your implants while they heal. However, it's less durable. You will have this replaced with a permanent bridge in a few months.

Aftercare

In the days following the surgery, patients often experience bruising, swelling, and some general discomfort. You may want to take a few days off work to allow yourself time to recover and get adjusted to your new teeth. We will provide you with aftercare instructions on the day of the procedure as well as explain the foods you can and cannot eat during your recovery process.
